    Yuji Murata Endowment Award
    Yuji Murata Endowment Award. Awarded by the Asia Oceania Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. 2013. This award was awarded to Gayani Harendra for her PhD work conducted under my supervision `{`Prof. Rohan W Jayasekara was the co-supervisor`}` and reported in the paper titled “Haplotypes of Heparin-binding EGF- like Growth Factor (HBEGF) gene are associated with preeclampsia” published in the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Research `{`2012 Jan;38(1):239-46. doi: 10.1111/j.1447-0756.2011.01700.x`}`. This award is awarded to the principal author of the best paper in the field of fetal and maternal medicine published in the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Research in 2011 and 2012. The award was presented at the Opening Ceremony of the XXIII Congress of AOFOG held in Bangkok, Thailand from 20-23 October 2013.

    third prize for oral presentations

    The third prize for oral presentations. The British meeting of the International Society for the Study of Hypertension in Pregnancy, 2003; was awarded to: Dissanayake VHW, Morgan L, Broughton Pipkin F, Vathanan V, Premaratne S, Jayasekara RW, Senevirathne HR. The urine protein heat coagulation test is a reliable screening test for proteinuria in pregnancy.

    Yuji Murata Endowment Award
    Awarded by the Asia Oceania Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. This award was awarded for the research work reported in the paper titled “The microbiome of the placenta in preeclampsia supports the role of bacteria in the multifactorial aetiology of pre-eclampsia” published in the Journal of Obsteterics and Gynaecology Research 2015;41(5):662-9. doi: 10.1111/jog.12619. Epub 2014 Dec 10. This award is awarded to the best paper in the field of fetal and maternal medicine published in the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Research in 2015 and 2016. The award was presented at the Opening Ceremony of the XXV Congress of AOFOG held in Hong Kong on 16 June 2017.

  • SLMA Oration 2008.
    The SLMA oration is the most prestigious oration awarded by the Sri Lanka Medical Association for medical research in Sri Lanka on competitive basis. The title of the oration delivered by me on 19 March 2008 was “Genetics of Pre-eclampsia and the Weight of Babies at Birth”.

  • Nalin Rodrigo Oration 2015
    The Nalin Rodrigo oration is one of the prestigious orations awarded by the Sri Lanka College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists on invitation to a leading clinician/researcher. The title of the oration delivered by me on 20 December 2015 was “Genetics of Cancer: Can we do more for our patients and their families?”

  • K Rajasuriya Oration 2014.
    The K Rajasuriya oration is one of the prestigious orations awarded by the Ceylon College of Physicians on competitive basis. The title of the oration delivered by me on 7 October 2014 was “The role of single nucleotide variants in genetic predisposition, diagnosis, and therapy: A decade of work in the Sri Lankan population”.

  • E. V. Peiris Oration 2013.
    The EV Peiris oration is one of the prestigious orations awarded by the Ceylon College of Physicians on competitive basis. The title of the oration delivered by me on 14 September 2013 was “Genetics of Thromboembolic Disease in Sri Lanka”.

  • Jayaseelan Mathias Oration 2017.

    The Jayaseelan Mathias Orationis one fo the prestigious orations awarded by the Indian Medical Association. The title of the oration delivered by me on 9 December 2017 at the 72nd Tamil Nadu State Conference of the Indian Medical Association at Nargacoil, India was “Digital Health for NCDs”.

  • KSM Oration 2018.

    The KSM oration is one of the presitigious orations awared by the Kandy Society of Medicine on competitive basis. The title of the oration delivered by me on 15 February 2018 at the Inauguration of the 40th Annual Academic Sessions of the Kandy Society of Medicine was “Capacity Building and Innivation in eHelath in Sri Lanka”.
