Professor Anuja Abaydeera

Professor Anuja Abayadeera is a Professor in Anaesthesiology and the Head,  Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care , Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo. She is also a Honorary Consultant Anaesthetist of the University Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, National Hospital of Sri Lanka.

Professor Abayadeera graduated from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka in 1990 and obtained the MD in Anaesthesiology from PGIM, University of Colombo in 1996. She has obtained the FRCA (London) and has completed the CTHE ( University of Colombo) with SEDA accreditation. She has completed PG cert MedEd from University of Dundee.

Her research interests include outcomes following major abdominal surgery, and kidney transplantation.

She is the current Chairperson of the Board of study in Anaesthesiology. She was the Editor of the Sri Lankan Journal of Anaesthesiology which is hosted by SLJOL and is a member of the Editorial boards of the Journal of the PGIM and APICARE journal, Pakistan.
