Prof. Shermal Wijewardene<\/h1>\n[vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Shermal Wijewardene holds an MPhil in English Studies from the University of Oxford, UK, and a PhD in Gender Studies from Monash\u00a0University, Australia. She teaches Shakespeare Studies, Chaucer, Milton and Autobiographical Writing, incorporating queer, feminist, and postcolonial critical approaches.\u00a0 Her research is multidisciplinary, engaging with the intersections of technology,\u00a0 literature, social movements, human rights, and queer representation in law, literature and the media. Together with Vijay Nagaraj, she has co-authored\u00a0Human Rights Practice: Towards a Thick Description\u00a0<\/i>(2014). She has also co-authored\u00a03D Things: Devices, Technologies, and Women’s Organising in Sri Lanka\u00a0<\/i>(2015)\u00a0with Kumudini Samuel.<\/p>\n
