BIOGRAPHY<\/h1>\n[vc_column_text]Professor. S.P. Molligoda entered the University of Colombo in December 1986 as an undergraduate and continued her association with the University by joining the University as a probationary lecturer after obtaining First Class Honors in her degree. She received her postgraduate qualifications, Master of Philosophy from the University of Peradeniya, MD from the National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India and completed Ph.D. at the University of Kelaniya.\u00a0 She serves the University of Colombo as a Professor and Head of the Department of Basic Principles, Ayurveda Anatomy and Physiology at present. She was the Chairperson of the Coordinating Committee and member of Traditional Medicine Policy formulation of the Indigenous Sector in Sri Lanka 2022. During the time of being a Senior lecturer she was appointed to various academic as well as administrative positions. She has served as the, Senior assistant, Student counselor, Secretary of the Sectional Committee,\u00a0 Head of the English language teaching unit, Head of the Department of Basic Principles, Secretary of the\u00a0 ethical review Committee, Member of the Library Committee, Counselor of Student Art\u2019s subcommittee, Head of the Ayurveda Department,\u00a0 Organizing Secretary of International Conference on Unani Ayurveda Siddha and Traditional Medicine 2017, Member of the Research management and High degree Committee, Chairperson of SER Writing team of IQAC, Institute of Indigenous Medicine and she contributed as a expertise of\u00a0 Standard Ayurveda terminology document published by Ministry of AYUSH in India. She expertise in Ayurveda philosophy, Ayurveda basic Principles and Samhita, Buddhist Philosophy, History of Ayurveda. She has been awarded the Vice Chancellor\u2019s Research Award in 2023. She is a member of the Editorial Board, Sri Lanka Journal of Indigenous Medicine Sri Lanka. She has supervised, and supervises, several MPhil, Masters and post graduate Diploma Students. She has published books and numerous research articles in local and internationally reputed journals.<\/p>\n

Professor S.P.
