From 2000 to 2008 he worked as a medical officer at the District Ayurveda Hospital, Ampara. He worked there for 8 years with utmost sincerity and dedication. While he was working as a medical officer, he obtained a scholarship to complete her Post graduate degree in in University of Colombo. Therefore, he joined as a PG scholar in Master of Philosophy in Moalejat in Unani at University of Colombo, He studied for 2 years. On 5th February 2008, he joined as an academic staff (Lecturer in probationary) in IIM, University of Colombo. During his period, he was appointed to various Academic positions.
