  • Expert analysis on Post mortem report of Li Wangyang for Hongkong Alliance in support of Democratic Patriotic Movement of China

    August 2012

    Assisted in the expert review of the postmortem conducted on political activist Li Wangyang who died under suspicious circumstances while under custody of the Chinese government.

  • Forensic Age Estimation of Somali pirates in Seychelles

    March 2014

    Headed a four-member team of experts from the Faculty of Medicine Colombo to conduct Forensic Age Estimations on thirteen Somali individuals detained for maritime crime under the court order of the Seychelles Supreme Court. The project was arranged through the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime. The Forensic Age Estimation included clinical examination, odontology and radiological assessment and reporting.

  • Providing expert testimony in international piracy trials

    June 2015

    Provided expert testimony in Seychelles Supreme Court on the Forensic Age Estimation Project conducted in March 2014 in relation to the international piracy trials in Seychelles

  • Provision of forensic expertise to Seychelles in a suspicious death

    January 2017

    Invited by the Seychelles Police to conduct an autopsy on an adult male who died under suspicious circumstances in Victoria, Seychelles.

  • Victim identification following mass disaster in Meethotamulla, Sri Lanka

    April 2017

    Team leader in the Disaster Victim Identification process following the mass disaster of 32 deaths from collapse and sliding of garbage dump in Meethotamulla, Kolonnawa, Sri Lanka.

  • Excavation of mass grave in Mannar

    July 2018

    Actively participated in the excavation of human remains found in a mass grave in Mannar, Sri Lanka. The mass grave contained skeletal remains of over 200 individuals. Some of the skeletal remains were referred to the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology Colombo for anthropological analysis.

  • Victim identification following Easter Sunday mass disaster

    April 2019

    Actively supported the Disaster Victim Identification process following the Easter Sunday terrorist attack where over 250 individuals including foreign nationals lost their lives.
