Computer Unit, Faculty of Management and Finance
K.D. Nilanka Chaminda Perera joined the Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo as an Instructor in Computer Technology in 2014.
He has obtained his first degree, Bachelor of Science (Special) Degree in Computer Science with a Second Class Honors Upper Division from the Faculty of Science, University of Colombo in 2002.
He has completed his postgraduate qualifications, Master of Information Technology with a distinction pass from the University of Colombo, School of Computing in 2018 and he received the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) award for the Best Student in the year 2017.
Before joining the Faculty of Management and Finance, he worked as a Software Engineer at Advanced Circuit Engineering (ACE) Co., Ltd. in Japan and Software Developer at the Department of Post Sri Lanka. During his work in Japan, he was mainly involved in the developments of embedded applications as well as touch panel applications. When he was worked at the Department of Post, he has developed several web-based online payment modules attached to the “e-Pay” system.
He has been engaging in all the ICT-related activities in the Faculty. Especially he has developed a Learning Management System (LMS) for the Undergraduate in 2018 and it effectively facilitates the teaching, learning, and assessment activities of over 2000 Bachelor of Business Administration undergraduates. He is the administrator of that system and maintains the LMS to conduct all the academic activities effectively and efficiently.
