Professor Tissa Ravinda Perera was the Head of the Department of Management and Organization Studies at the Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka from 2021 to 2024. He was also the Coordinator of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) weekday program from 2019 to 2021. He is a dedicated academic who teaches at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. In addition to lecturing, he supervises research at Ph.D., DBA, MBA, and undergraduate levels. Beyond academia, Professor Perera is also a seasoned corporate trainer and business consultant. He has delivered training for institutions such as the Colombo School of Business and Management, the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Sri Lanka, The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), and McQuire Rens & Jones (Pvt.) Ltd. He currently serves as a Senior Consultant for Global Education and Training Academy (GETA), and Global Consultancy and Research Services. Additionally, he holds key leadership roles, including Board of Management Member of the Colombo Young Men’s Buddhist Association (YMBA), Colombo 08, Sri Lanka (2025\u2013Present); Member of the Board of Experts, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF), a collaborative initiative with the Communication University of China (CUC), Beijing, China (2025\u2013Present); Guest Editor of the Special Issue, Colombo Business Journal, Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka (2025); and Chairperson, Committee for Development of the University of Colombo Startup Incubator, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka (2025). His teaching and research interests cover a wide range of topics, including entrepreneurship development, small business management, creativity and innovation, management process and practices, cross-cultural management, case study development and analysis and contemporary issues in management. He is particularly focused on the development of Cottage, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (CMSMEs). In the field of corporate training, Professor Perera specializes in areas such as emotional intelligence, creativity and innovation, leadership, change management, decision-making, public speaking, and positive attitude development. He is passionate about fostering entrepreneurship and enhancing CMSME capacity. Professor Perera has played an active role in academic publishing and conference engagement. He has served on editorial boards and reviewed for both local and international journals. He has also participated in numerous research conferences as a reviewer, panelist, and session chair. Notably, he co-chaired the 5th International Research Conference on Management and Finance (IRCMF \u2013 2010) at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and the 2nd Research Symposium of Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of (CIPM) Sri Lanka. He has published extensively in the areas of entrepreneurship, management and organization studies, Human resource development and economics. His academic contributions include six books, written in both English and Sinhala, focused on management, entrepreneurship and the CMSME sector. Professor Perera has contributed to national educational initiatives, serving as an activity coordinator for the World Bank-funded AHEAD (Accelerating Higher Education Expansion and Development) Project. He was also a former president of the Faculty of Management and Finance Teachers\u2019 Association and the founding coordinator of the Career Guidance Unit at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n
