Dr. Fernando is the first US patent holder of University of Colombo for the finding of potent anticancer activity of a flavonoid compound isolated from a Sri Lankan mushroom. She possesses 12 years of academic experience in the fields of Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Animal Tissue Culture, Cancer Biology, Natural Product Chemistry and Molecular Biology.
