She is a consultant psychiatrist at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka and an honorary consultant for the Sri Lanka Air Force.<\/p>\n<p>She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo with second class honors in 2009. She was board certified as a consultant psychiatrist in 2018. During her training as a psychiatry registrar she won the Rhagavan Kulanayagam Gold Medal for the best essay by a psychiatry trainee. She was placed second in order of merit at the MD psychiatry examination.
