Prof. Gamage obtained BSc. degree from the Faculty of Science, University of Colombo, Masters in Library & Information Science from the University of Colombo, and Doctor of Philosophy from Wuhan University, P.R. China.<\/p>\n
He is a Fellow of the Sri Lanka Library Association and a member of the University Librarians Association of Sri Lanka. He was the Chair of the South Asia Chapter of the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T). He has contributed over 30 publications in Library Science, Information Management, IT Literacy, and several other LIS-related themes. He also held the esteemed position of President of the Sri Lanka Library Association during 2020\/2021.<\/p>\n
He was jointly awarded the Innovator of the Year title of the University Librarians Association of Sri Lanka in November 2024 for introducing an automated catalog creation application using an artificial intelligence (AI) platform.<\/p>\n
