Modules for Experiments in Stellar Astrophysics (MESA) is a state-of-art stellar evaluation code which can be used to model the stellar interior and evolution with a wide range of parameters to simulate a large number of astrophysical scenarios. We expect students to give the opportunity to use the code for the applications of pulsating stars.\u00a0 Thereby introduce the theoretical aspects of pulsating stars and how to properly model stars which can explain the observations.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Astronomy and Space Science Unit, Department of Physics<\/strong>, University of Colombo has organized a summer school in astrophysics with the collaboration of <strong>International Center of Theoretical Physics (ICTP) Physics Without Frontiers<\/strong>. The program details are as follows.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080\">Date: 5 \u2013 9 August 2024<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080\">Venue: Department of Physics,University of Colombo<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080\">Number of Students: 20 undergraduate students<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080\">Mode of delivery: Physical and online<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The program is mainly consisted of hands on experience of stellar modeling code \u201cModules of Experiments in Astrophysics (MESA) and few guest talks. Dr. Jordi Gutierrez Cabello, Department of Physics, Universitat Polit\u00e8cnica de Catalunya, Spain will be conducting the stellar modeling code session.
