Piyanjali de Zoysa is a senior professor in the Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo. She is a clinical psychologist by profession. She graduated from the University of Delhi, India, with a bachelors and masters degree, and her doctorate was from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. She co-founded Sri Lanka’s first and only post-graduate professional clinical psychology training program, the M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Colombo. She is also the founder president of the Sri Lanka Psychological Association.

Her research interests include mindfulness-based interventions, present moment awareness, child abuse and child-directed violence, humaneness. and cross-cultural aspects of psychology.

Piyanjali hosted the weekly television program, Vinadi 9ya, a Psychology-Psychiatry Dialogue, on Rupavahini, national TV.
