Dr. Suhashini Ratnatunga

Dr. Suhashini Ratnatunga is a Senior lecturer in the Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo. She is a consultant psychiatrist at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka and an honorary consultant for the Sri Lanka Air Force.

She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo with second class honors in 2009. She was board certified as a consultant psychiatrist in 2018. During her training as a psychiatry registrar she won the Rhagavan Kulanayagam Gold Medal for the best essay by a psychiatry trainee. She was placed second in order of merit at the MD psychiatry examination. She completed her overseas training as an international training fellow in Oxford, UK through the MTI scheme.

She is currently the convener of the mental health module of the faculty of Medicine, Colombo.

Her research interests include mood disorders, liaison psychiatry services, suicide and deliberate self harm.
