Mr Amarasinghe completed his Bachelor of Laws [LL.B] degree with Honours at the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo in 2018. In 2019 he joined the Centre for the Study of Human Rights, University of Colombo as a Researcher. Subsequent to joining the Bar in 2020 as an Attorney-at-Law Mr Amarasinghe started his professional career as a junior defence counsel. He completed his first Master of Laws [LL.M] degree in 2021 from the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo and his second Master of Laws [LL.M] degree in 2023 from General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University of Sri Lanka with a specialisation in International Humanitarian Law.<\/p>\n
Mr Amarasinghe was awarded the University Scholarship, the Gate Mudliyer Edmond Peiris Prize, and the Ajita Parathalingam Memorial Prize in 2015 for his academic excellence as an undergraduate at the University of Colombo. Also, he was awarded the University Colour Insignia in 2016 as a Gold Medalist at the 2016 International Students’ Olympic Games. In addition, Mr Amarasinghe is the author of many scholarly academic works published nationally and internationally.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″]
