BIOGRAPHY

Dr Shamila Dawood is currently attached to the Department of Commercial Law, University of Colombo. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the Queensland University Technology (QUT), Brisbane, Australia, a Master of Laws degree in International Public Law from the University of Oslo, Norway, and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. She is also an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka. She is a recipient of the Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education (CTHE) as well as the Diploma in Commercial Arbitration from the ICLP, Colombo. Currently she teaches International Investment Law, Business Law and Legal Method for undergraduate level, and supervision at PhD and Master level. Her research interests include sustainable development and foreign investment, international trade/business, consumer protection, environment and minority rights. She has published a number of articles in local and international journals and other publications.
