The University Research Award for the Faculty of Law, 2016

The SEDA accreditation, granted by the Staff and Educational Development Association, UK, for achieving the requisite standard in the portfolio on staff development conducted by the Staff Development Centre of the University of Colombo.

The SATA international law prize (joint winner, 2005) for the best essay to be published in the Asian Yearbook of International Law 2006 by an Asian writer under the age of 35.

The Fulbright Junior Scholarship Award (2003-2004) to fund a program of post-graduate study in the USA. This was awarded by the US-Sri Lanka Fulbright Commission.

Partial Tuition Waiver of fees for the Master in Laws Program, granted by Georgetown University, Washington DC, USA, in 2003.

The Walter and Judith Pinto Memorial Scholarship and Gold Medal, 2001 awarded by the University of Colombo.

The Julius and Creasy prize for taxation, 2001 (awarded for the best performance in the subject of taxation).

Certificate of commendation, for obtaining first-class honours at the attorney-at-law final examination, conducted by the Sri Lanka Law College, in December 2001.

The Mahapola Higher Education (Merit) Scholarship – 1997-2001

Scholarship awarded by the National Centre for Advanced Studies In Humanities And Social Sciences (NCAS) to pursue a Ph.D degree at the University of Colombo.

Full grant awarded by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) and the World Trade Organization (WTO) to attend a two- week Colloquium for teachers of intellectual property in Geneva, Switzerland, from 28th June 2010 to 9th July 2010 and to make a presentation on the protection of traditional knowledge.

Full grant awarded by the UNCTAD (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development) Virtual Institute to attend a workshop on the Economic and Legal aspects of International Investment Agreements, held in Bangkok, Thailand, from 28th November -2nd December 2005.
