BIOGRAPHY

 

Dr.Jeevani Dahanayake is a senior lecturer at the Department of Dravyaguna Vignana (Ayurveda Pharmacology and Pharmaceutics), Institute of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo. She educated in Devi Balika Vidyalya, Colombo and entered the IIM in 1998 and obtained BAMS with an honours pass from University of Colombo in 2004.

Dr. Dahanayake joined as an academic member of the Institute of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo in 2008. She completed her postgraduate studies; Master of Phillosophy (MPhil) in 2010. She was accredited as a teacher in Higher Education by Staff Educational Development Association (SEDA), United Kingdom in 2009 and also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Counseling from Faculty of Education, University of Colombo. Currently, she is reading her PhD at Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Colombo.

In her research approaches, she has presented several research papers on traditional medicine, Ayurveda Pharmaceuticals, drug standardization and medicinal plants at national and international conferences.
