Dr. W.K.T. Dushmantha is a Lecturer (Probationary) at the Department of Ayurveda Medicine and Indigenous Medicine, Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo. He completed his secondary education at Thurstan College and Ananda College, Colombo, before joining the Institute of Indigenous Medicine (IIM) in 2016 as an undergraduate. Dr. Dushmantha graduated in 2022 with a Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery degree, earning First Class Honors and achieving the highest overall cumulative GPA across five academic years. Also he was awarded the Dr. Pandith K.G.P. Jayatilaka Memorial Gold Medal for excellent Overall Performance in the General Convocation of the University of Colombo. In addition to his academic achievements, Dr. Dushmantha has completed several specialized certifications, including a Certificate in Yoga and Relaxation Techniques from the University of Kelaniya, a Certificate in Drug Counselling from the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board, and a Certificate in Basic Hindi from the Department of Official Languages. Currently, Dr. Dushmantha is pursuing an Master of Science in Human Nutrition at Wayamba University of Sri Lanka and a Diploma in Applied Statistics from the Institute of Applied Statistics, Sri Lanka. He is an life member of the Population Association of Sri Lanka. Dr. Dushmantha’s research interests focus on Ayurveda Medicine and Indigenous Medicine of Sri Lanka, Clinical Trials related to Ayurveda, Human Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition and Nutritional Epidemiology and Applied/ Medical Statistics.
