Professor Farzana, completed her undergraduate study at IIM, University of Colombo and done postgraduate at National Institute of Unani Medicine, Bengaluru, India.

Immediately past out from IIM, she worked as a temporary demonstrator in the subject of Anatomy and physiology.  Then she worked as a visiting lecturer and contract basis lecturer. And since 2006 to 2011 worked as a lecturer (Probationary) then promoted as Senior Lecturer Gr-II from 2011 to 2019, and promoted as a Senior Lecturer –Gr-I from 2019 to 2020. From 2020 to till date she is working as Professor in  Amraz e Niswan va Qabalat (Gynecology and Obstetrics-Unani)
