Dr. Mrs. U.R.S.R.K.Senarathne who has been studied at Girls’ High School, Kandy (1989 – 1997) completed her Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) Degree in 2005 in the Institute of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo. Having completed the degree, she entered the government Ayurveda Medical Service and served for 13 years in Kandy and Mathale district. During this period she was able to earn M.Sc. (MAAI) (2011) and M.A. (Buddhist Ayurveda Counselling) (2013) offered by the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. In 2017, she won the scholarship for MD (Ayu) Vachaspathi in the Institute of Post Graduate Teaching & Research in Ayurveda (IPGT&RA) Jamnagar, Gujarat Ayurveda University, India and specialized in Rasa Shastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana. Thereafter Dr.senarathne was attached to the Provincial Ayurveda Manufacturing unite, and extended her service towards clinical works too in provincial Ayurveda Hospital Pallekele. She has been working as a senior Lecture grade II in the Institute of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo, Rajagiriya since 2022 and she is interested to share traditional values of Indigenous Medical System globally while conserving its uniqueness.
