B. S. Bandusekara is a Lecturer (Probationary) at the University of Colombo Institute for Agro-Technology and Rural Sciences, Weligatta, Hambantota since March 2021. He completed his BSc. in Agricultural Technology and Management (Hons) degree with second class upper division at the faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. He completed his PhD at the Post Graduate Institute of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya in 2023. The PhD study focused on wild and cultivated Cinnamon species in Sri Lanka, the study consist with molecular and morphological characterization, identification of biochemical properties along with antimicrobial properties.
He started his career in 2018 as a Research Assistant in Agricultural Biotechnology Centre (AgBC), Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. He contributed his service at the same place as a RA at Cinnamon project funded by NES (NFS/SP/CIN/2016/01).
