Contribution to undergraduate teaching

  • Convener of the Infectious and Parasitic Disease Module of the undergraduate curriculum of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo.
  • Contribute in teaching activities of three of  the five Streams of the faculty, namely Introductory Basic Sciences Stream (IBS), Community Stream and Behavioral Sciences Stream as a tutor, research supervisor and an Examiner.
  • Contribute as a supervisor and examiner in research programme of the Allied Health Sciences Unit, Faculty of Medicine University of Colombo

 

Contribution to postgraduate teaching programmes

  • Coordinator of the M Sc programme in Cellular and Molecular Immunology in the  Institute of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (IBMBB), University of Colombo.
  • Contribute to teaching of MD-Parasitology and Diploma and MD in Microbiology students from Post Graduate Institute of Medicine (PGIM), University of Colombo
  • Visiting Lecturer of the M Sc in Immunology course of the IBMBB, University of Colombo from year 2009.

  • Primary Supervisor of the Ph D work of Dr WAWK Wijayalath at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo.  Ph D titled “Studies on relapses and strain-specific protective immunity in Plasmodium cynomolgi infections in toque monkey, Macaca sinica”.  Effective Date of the Ph D was September 1, 2010.
  • Primary Supervisor of the Ph D work of Ms Nadhikala Muthiah at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo.  Ph D title “Study on measles, mumps and rubella antibody status in mothers & their newborn babies in Colombo district”.  Effective Date of registration in the Research and Higher Degrees Committee (RHDC) is 27th March 2013.
  • Primary Supervisor of the M Phil work of Ms Rahini Mahendran at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo.  M Phil title “Longitudinal study on effect of demographic, socioeconomic developmental and environmental factors on malaria incidence in a dry zone locality in Sri Lanka”.  Effective date of registration is August 2014.
