BIOGRAPHY

Samanlatha Menike Adhikari, currently serves as a Senior Assistant Librarian (Grade II) at the Main Library, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Mrs.  Adhikari graduated from the University of Colombo with a first Class for BA Special Degree in Sinhala and obtained Professor M.B. Ariyapala Award for the best student in Sinhala in the year 2000.  In 2010, she obtained a Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of Colombo. She also completed Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education (CTHE) in 2013.

She joined the Library University of Colombo in 2004 as an Assistant Librarian and promoted to Senior Assistant Librarian (Grade II) in 2010. She served as a visiting lecturer at the Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Colombo in 2016 and was an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Sinhala, Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo from 2001 to 2003. She was a Temporary Student counsellor of the Main Library from 2015 to2018. Her research interests are in the areas of Information needs, and Information Literacy.
