Ms. Charmain Patrick is a Lecturer in the Department of Accounting, University of Colombo, with over five years of university teaching experience across financial accounting, auditing, management accounting, accounting information systems, and related disciplines.

She holds an MBA in Accounting & Information Management with Merit from the University of Colombo and a First Class Honours BBA in Accounting from the University of Colombo, with a GPA of 3.97 out of 4.00. She was awarded the Gold Medal for the best performance in the BBA Accounting Degree Programme, nominated for the University’s Academic Excellence Award, and received a scholarship in recognition of outstanding academic achievement.

She is currently pursuing Chartered Accountancy with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, with only the Capstone remaining, and is an Affiliate of the Institute of Analytics. A former student of Bishop’s College, Colombo, she excelled academically and was recognised for achieving the best G.C.E. Advanced Level results in the Commerce stream. Prior to her current appointment, she served as a Lecturer at NSBM Green University and as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Accounting, University of Colombo. She also has over four years of professional experience in audit and assurance practice, including experience with KPMG and Tilakaratnam & Co./KRR Associates. Her academic experience encompasses teaching, curriculum and assessment development, academic coordination, research supervision, and student mentoring.

Her research interests include accounting and auditing, digital transformation and emerging technologies in accounting, artificial intelligence in auditing, accounting information systems, financial modelling, and audit quality. She has contributed to journal and conference publications and presented research at national and international academic conferences. She has also contributed to academic research and conference activities through editorial, reviewing, and organising roles at the University of Colombo and other higher education institutions.
