Mr. Pasan M. Wijayawardhana is a goal-driven academic individual with a strong foundation in Economics and Management. His academic journey is marked by excellence, culminating in a Master of Philosophy in Business Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Business Economics with First Class Honors from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura (Sri Lanka). Further, he has completed a Master’s in Development Studies (MDS) from the University of Colombo (Sri Lanka) and a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Economic Policy from BALPP (Sri Lanka).
He is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Business Economics at the University of Colombo and aims to become a resourceful and responsible leader in dynamic organizations. Moreover, as a part-time voluntary role, Mr. Wijayawardhana is serving as the founder chairman of the Ceylon Foundation for Economic Policy-Analysis (CFEP), an economic policy think tank in Sri Lanka. His previous work experience includes roles such as a Sri Lanka Parliament Representative on several Sectoral Oversight Committees, an Economic Research Analyst at the Advocata Institute, an Assistant Lecturer in Economics at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and an intern in the Economic Research Department at the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. He also served as the National Director for AIESEC Sri Lanka. His research interests are centered on areas such as Labor Economics, Gender Studies, Entrepreneurship, Educational Economics and Development Economics, which are reflected in his publications. His expertise extends to the classroom, where he teaches a diverse range of subjects, including Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Economics of SME and Tourism Economics. Beyond his professional and academic endeavors, he actively contributes to public discourse by sharing his knowledge through articles and participating in various public media discussions on economic issues.
