Mr. Ashan Wijekoon is a registered physiotherapist in SLMC and a lecturer (probationary) in the Department of Allied Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka.

He obtained his bachelor of science (honours) degree in Physiotherapy from Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo in 2018 with a second class (upper) division. He is a Commonwealth PhD scholar and currently reading for his PhD in Exercise Science and Physical Rehabilitation with a special interest in rehabilitation after amputation. His PhD is a Split-site project of University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and King’s College London, United Kingdom.

He delivers lectures for undergraduates of Faculty of Dance & Drama, University of the Visual & Performing Arts, as a visiting lecturer, and he acts as the key contact (Sri Lanka) for World Physiotherapy Future Network, World Confederation for Physical Therapy.

His research interests include, exercise science, kinesiology, and physical rehabilitation.
