Cinthuja Pathmanathan is a lecturer at the Department of Allied Health Sciences Department, University of Colombo. She is a SEDA (UK) accredited teacher in higher education teaching. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Peradeniya with a First class. She had attended a course at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam on Human Movement analysis. She completed her Master of Research at the University of Dundee, United Kingdom. She was a commonwealth scholar.
She was a lecturer at the Department of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University before joining the University of Colombo. She has worked as a physiotherapist in department clinic, hospitals/centres and volunteered as a physiotherapist for a sports club in the United Kingdom.
Currently, she is a committee member and a joint secretary of the Ethical Review Committee, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo. She is a convener of the Research Stream. She was a convener of the Applied Physiotherapy Stream and a coordinator of the Behavioural Sciences Stream, B. Sc Physiotherapy.
Her main research interest includes musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy mainly focusing on injury prevention, ACL injury, osteoarthritis, Exercise programme/ rehabilitation, Physiotherapy Guidelines, Lower limb Biomechanics, and Gait analysis.
She has presented at many conferences and received grants and scholarships during her academic career.
