  • PhD at the University of Colombo on viper venom induced acute kidney injury and thrombotic microangiopathy funded by the South Asian Clinical Toxicology Research Collaboration (SACTRC)
  • Research grant from National Science Foundation (NSF) in 2016 for Rs.5, 000,000.00 for the research project ‘Nationwide surveillance, quantity burden of NCDs, development of case definition and biomarkers for CKDu libraries’ (RPHS/2016/CKDu 01)
  • Research grant from the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) in 2016 under the Clinical Research Program for USD 20,000.00 for the research project titled ‘Prevalence of CKD in Sri Lanka’ (16-02-37)

Fellowships/Travel Grants

  • Bursary awarded by Royal College of Physicians in 2009 to attend the annual meeting of the Renal Association UK and the British Transplantation Society 2009 and one-week study visit to Renal Unit at Leicester General Hospital UK.
  • Travel Grant awarded by International Society of Nephrology (ISN) to present research at the Forefronts meetings in Sylt, Germany in May 2010
