  • Resource person for pre-congress workshop on “Laparoscopic surgery” held on 24th November 2021 at the De Soysa Hospital for Women. This was a workshop with live surgical demonstrations from the DSHW theatre complex. I was the facilitator in the auditorium where the audience was given the chance of interacting with the surgeons.

  • Chaired 3 sessions at the 9th Asian Congress on Endometriosis from 28th to 30th October 2021. This was a hybrid session with the control room situated in the Joseph Fraser Memorial Hospital

  • Resource person in Laparoscopic training at peripheral hospitals

    The aim of the program was to develop skills of consultants and senior house officer to carry out total laparoscopic hysterectomies as well as advanced gynaecological surgeries like laparoscopic adhesiolysis. Also, the nursing and minor staff training on setting up and maintenance of the laparoscopic stacks and other equipment was another objective. As a resource person (1st assistant to Dr. Dhammike Silva) I have participated in 3 such programs in following hospitals

    During my 2nd year registrar training period I was able to organise 12 clinical meetings under the supervision of Dr. Lakshman Kariyawasam. The meetings were a rich source of information for the postgraduate trainees of different fields working at CSHW as well as for the Medical Officers of the hospital.

  • OSCE for MD part II candidates of Obstetrics and Gynaecology

    Conducted an OSCE for candidates who were sitting for the MD part II in 2015. The OSCE was held at the Teaching Hospital Kandy with the help of part II examiners and the junior consultants working in peripheral hospitals around the Kandy Hospital.

  • OSCE for MD part I candidates of Obstetrics and Gynaecology

    Organised a mock exam with the help of the consultants, SR and my co-registrar at ward 5, Teaching Hospital Kandy, for the candidates who passed MCQs of the selection examination for Obstetrics and Gynaecology. There were 9 participants. The exam consisted of two essay questions and six OSCE stations. 10 obstetricians participated as examiners.
