Dr. Ruwan Gamage is currently a Senior Lecturer at the National Institute of Library and Information Sciences, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. He has 22 years of experience in the university sector as an academic.
Dr. Gamage obtained BSc. degree from the Faculty of Science, University of Colombo, Masters in Library & Information Science from the University of Colombo, and Doctor of Philosophy from Wuhan University, P.R. China.
He is a Fellow of the Sri Lanka Library Association and a member of the University Librarians Association of Sri Lanka. He was elected the Chair of the South Asia Chapter of the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T). He has contributed over 30 publications in Library Science, Information Management, IT Literacy, and several other LIS-related themes. He also held the esteemed position of President of the Sri Lanka Library Association during 2020/2021.
One of his greatest contributions to the field of Library and Information Sciences is the introduction of the Sri Lanka Library Friends e-discussion group, which will celebrate its 20th birthday in 2023.
