Sachintha Lokuyaddage is a BSc in Nursing graduate from Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, University of Peradeniya with a second class upper division. Also she is a registered nursing officer under the Sri Lankan Nursing Council from 2016. Right after finishing the first degree, she has worked as a staff nurse at Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Lanka Hospitals pvt Ltd. Then she joined the Open University of Sri Lanka as a Temporary Lecturer (2016 to 2019). During the stay at the Open University she was appointed as a student counsellor and the academic coordinator of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the Badulla Regional Centre. Further Sachintha contributed as an author for the text books of Public Health Nursing and Management and Professional Development in Nursing.
From 2020 to 2021 she worked as a Lecturer in Nursing at the Faculty of Health Sciences in CINEC Campus, Sri Lanka. Sachintha is an Australian qualified trainer and assessor as she followed Australian Qualification Framework Level 4: “TAE40116 – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment” course. At present she is working as a Lecturer (Probationary), Department of Fundamental Nursing, Faculty of Nursing.
Currently, she is reading her MPhil at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya. Major areas of the post graduate are hypertension and nutrition. She is interested in conducting research in public health, non-communicable diseases and nutrition.
