BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Mohamed Shariff Anees is a Senior Lecturer attached to the department of Political Science and Public Policy of University of Colombo. He obtained his first degree from University of Peradeniya in 1991 and the MA (1998) and Ph.D. (2002) from the Graduate School of International Development of Nagoya University, Japan. He joined with Colombo University in 1992 as a lecturer probationary and has been promoted as Senior Lecturer Grade I. He served as the Chairman “Sri Lanka Standard Institution” in 2015. He also served as Sri Lankan Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran since 2017 to 2019.
