Susarithaa Segar is a lecturer (Probationary) attached to the Department of Public and International Law of the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo. She was a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Public and International Law, Faculty of Law, University of Colombo during 2010/2011, Temporary Lecturer of the Department of Public and International Law, Faculty of Law, University of Colombo from 2011 to 2013 and Lecturer (Probationary) of the Department of Public and International Law, Faculty of Law, University of Colombo from 2013 to 2017. She was a Practicing Lawyer in the areas of Civil and Criminal litigations from 2017 to 2022. Presently she is working as a Lecturer (Probationary) at the Department of Public and International Law, Faculty of Law, University of Colombo. She teaches Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights for Undergraduates of the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo. Her research interests are electoral systems, local governance and the Law of the Sea. She received her LL. B (Hons, Second Upper) from the University of Colombo and LL.M from University of Colombo. She has received her Diploma in Law of the Sea from Yeosu Academy on Law of the Sea in South Korea. Currently, she is reading for her M. Phil in the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo.
