Technology Transfer Initiatives

  1. Provided the leadership to all 17 state universities and 6 non-state higher educational institutions in Sri Lanka to establish University Business Linkage (UBL) cells to facilitate technology/knowledge transfer activities during 2018-2023. Well over 40 products reached the market through these UBLs during this period.
  2. Provided the leadership Colombo Science and Technology Cell, Faculty of Science, University of Colombo to initiate tech transfer activities from 2013-2018. A number of academics & research assistants from other departments contributed towards the following
  • “Waste-treat-waste” solution was developed with MAS in 2018
  • The product “MOSGUARD” launched on October 10, 2017 with Hemas
  • A forecasting model for non-performing loans by LB Finance PLC was developed in 2017
  • The product “Bio clean” launched on November 30, 2015 with the company Darley Butler
