Wathsala Samaranayake is a Lecturer (Probationary) attached to the Department of Commercial Law, Faculty of Law, University of Colombo.
She obtained her LL.B. (Hons.) degree from the University of Colombo. She is an Attorney-at-Law and prior to joining academia, she worked as an Associate at Julius and Creasy, Attorneys-at-Law.
She is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and a contributor to INTA’s online publication -Geographical Indications, Certification Marks and Collective Marks; An International Guide. Her research interests include trademarks, geographical indications, indigenous intellectual property and parallel imports.
She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at the University of Colombo.
