BIOGRAPHY

Senior lecturer attached to the Unit of Dravyaguna Vignana in Department of Ayurveda Institute of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo. Served as Head Unit of Dravyguna Vignana, consultant for National Ayurveda Teaching Hospital. Obtained post graduates of MPhil in Ayurveda from University of Colombo, PhD in Botany from Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Kelaniya. Followed research training programs from Benaras Hindu University & Gujarat Ayurveda University,India, Faculty of Medicine University of Colombo & Institute of Chemistry Sri Lanaka. Involved in experimental and clinical research in Ayurveda, Phytochemicals, secondary plant metabolites, plant taxonomy and chemotaxonomy, chromatography, pharmacognocy and herbal drug standardization. Conduct collaborative research with Faculty of Medicine University of Colombo, University of Vocational Technology, Ratmalana, Sri Lanka. Around twenty in number participated for workshops, given contribution to national and international conferences. Except to academic qualifications have experience with treatments in pedigree of traditional medical practices belongs to Ayagama Asaneris weda Paramapara in Rathnapura District that specialized for Sarwanga roga (general medicine). Currently conducting research on herbal drug standardization, medicinal plants in cancer treatments, product development of traditional herbal formula which grants facilitated by institutional and AHEAD projects.
