  • Functional immuno-assays: Cell isolation and purification, Phagocytosis assay, Cell adhesion assays, Phagocytic cell function assays etc.
  • Immuno-diagnostic assays: Inactivation of infectious samples, Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA), Sodium Dodeside Salphate Poly-Acrylamide Gel Electrophoresis (SDS PAGE), Immunochromatography, Immunofluorescence
  • Molecular Biological assays: DNA and RNA extractions, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), RT-PCR, cDNA synthesis, Gel electrophoresis and qPCR
  • Parasitological laboratory techniques: in vitro parasite culture, Specimen preparation and staining procedures, Sample processing for isolation of parasites/parasitic stages, Identification of parasites using standard identification keys and Family/Genus level taxonomy, Parasitological survey in amphibians, birds, fish and mammals
  • Biochemical assays: Lipid hydroperoxide assay, Quantification of protein, lipids, carbohydrates etc.
  • Leptospira culture techniques: Maintenance and expansion of pathogenic and saprophytic cultures in liquid and semisolid media
  • Using statistical software such as Social Sciences/ Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) version 17.0 and MINITAB 15.0
  • Using Microsoft Office package
