Dr. Sumadee De Silva is a Senior Lecturer in Institute of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, University of Colombo. She obtained her BSc degree (special) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with first-class in 2003 from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. Then she pursued her PhD studies at Institute of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (IBMBB), University of Colombo in the field of Cancer Molecular Genetics (2008-2012). After obtaining her PhD, she joined IBMBB as an academic staff member in 2013. Since that, she obtained research grants as the Principal Investigator from local granting agencies and supervising several Master of Science and PhD students. Her research interests are genetics in cancer, specially identifying early diagnostic non-invasive methods and also growth hormone deficiencies of children in Sri Lanka. Apart from that she involves in genetic testing respect to Breast Cancer at IBMBB. She is also an Active member of American Association of Cancer Research (AACR) from 2016.
