Teaching Experience

Undergraduate

  • Small group teaching sessions / tutorials to year 5 medical students of the University college of London.
  • Resource person for Clinical stimulation sessions to Year 5 medical students at the University College of London.
  • Single Best Answer Developing Work Shop and submitted model questions to University College of London.
  • Tutorials and clinical teachings at North Colombo Teaching Hospital, De Zoysa Maternity Hospital for Women and Teaching Hospital, Kandy.
  • Delivered 2 lectures in the ERPM course conducted by the SLCOG in March 2016.
  • Delivered a lecture on ‘Fetal Distress’ in the training programme conducted for the pre interns on 9th June, 2016.

Postgraduate

  • RCOG Certified medical educator for the postgraduates trainees in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
  • Clinical teaching and supervision to postgraduate trainees at Whittington Hospital, London.
  • Contributed significantly to improve the quality of training programme (Medical Training Initiative, RCOG) during the stay in the United Kingdom. (2013-2015).
  • Delivered Guest lectures on in the basic science course for the MD part 1 candidates conducted by the Sri Lanka College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
  • Resource person in the MRCOG part 2 course at the Whipps Cross University Hospital, London in 2014 and 2015.

Nurses and Midwifery

  • Resource person for the Hands on Training program in the ‘Safe Motherhood’ activities conducted by Sri Lanka College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. (17 Safe Motherhood Programs were conducted throughout the country for the year 2012).
  • Delivered Guest Lectures in the School for Post basic Nursing training in the academic year 2010-2011.
  • Delivered Lectures on emergency obstetric care at MOH's of various parts in the island (Safe Motherhood Program 2012).
  • Conducted workshops on Visual Estimation of Blood loss at De Zoysa Maternity Hospital in 2012.
  • Supervised and Trained Midwifery trainees at Whittington Hospital, London.
  • Member of the team appointed to evaluate the answer scripts of the final examination of the midwifery in Jan 2011.
