• Sinhala : Mother tongue.
• English: very proficient in Speaking, Writing, Listening and Reading skills; Ph.D. dissertation and publications reflect ability to express ideas, thoughts and views in English while maintaining syntactic variety.
• Japanese: Passed Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level II in December 1994 Very good command of the Japanese language.
• Twelve years’ work experience in Japan as a student, researcher and invited professor both in English and Japanese as media of instruction.
