Teaching Experience

Undergraduate

  • Clinical teacher of medical undergraduates since 2001 – teaching and evaluating final year medical students during the Professorial Medicine Appointment and Final MBBS examination.
  • Bedside clinical teaching of small groups of final year students since 2001
  • Contribute to teaching and evaluation in the Basic Sciences, Applied Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Community, and Humanities, Society and Professionalism streams of the undergraduate medical course of Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo.
  • Clinical examiner of the Final MBBS examination of other Universities: Peradeniya, Ruhuna, Jayewardenepura, Kelaniya, Rajarata, Jaffna, Kotelawala Defence University.

Postgraduate

  • Joint supervision of postgraduate trainees in MD (Medicine), MD (Geriatrics), MD (Emergency Medicine), MD(Psychiatry), Diploma in venereology and MD (Dermatology) training programmes during their clinical rotations in General Medicine in the Professorial Unit in Medicine of the National Hospital of Sri Lanka since 2008
  • Resource person of postgraduate courses (MD in Medicine, Diploma in Family Medicine, MD in Psychiatry, MSc Community Medicine, MD Venereology) and workshops conducted by the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo, Ceylon College of Physicians and the Association of Sri Lankan Neurologists.
  • Examiner for the MD Medicine part 1 and part 2 examinations, the postgraduate diploma in Sports Medicine, and the MD in Sports and Exercise Medicine conducted by the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo.
  • Examiner since March 2017 of the MRCP PACES examination conducted by the Federation of Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom. MRCP Examiner number 9713.
